Wanda "Sunny" Ciurylo, 81, died Friday (Oct. 26, 2001) in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, after a brief illness.
The former Wanda Sas was born in Niagara Falls and attended St. Stanislaus, Niagara Street Elementary and the former South Junior High schools.
During World War II, Mrs. Ciurylo worked in production at Bell Aircraft Co. in the Town of Wheatfield. In 1941 she married Anthony Ciurylo.
Mrs. Ciurylo was a member of the Holy Trinity Mothers Club, Holy Trinity Seniors, the Ad Astra Society and Polish Roman Catholic Union of America. She was also active in church functions and enjoyed bowling.
During the 1930s, she played softball on many amateur teams.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Barbara Michaels of Lewiston; two sons, David and Paul , both of Phoenix; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1419 Falls St., following prayers at 9:15 in Labuda Funeral Home, 356 Portage Road. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Lewiston.
