Hubert V. "Pat" Patterson, a retired Postal Service supervisor, died Thursday (Oct. 25, 2001) in his Kenmore home after a lengthy illness. He was 84.
Born in Buffalo, Patterson graduated from Coudersport (Pa.) High School and served as an Army sergeant during World War II.
He worked for the Postal Service for more than 30 years as a supervisor, retiring in 1973. He lived in the Buffalo area for more than 50 years.
Patterson was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic minister and adult server. He also was an active member of the Holy Name Society; St. Vincent de Paul Society; Catholic Guild for the Blind; Milton J. Brounshildle Post, American Legion; Mobile Eye of the Town of Tonawanda; and the Neighborhood Watch program.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deloris Vaske Patterson; three daughters, Karen LoBracco of Roswell, Ga., Anne Marie of Wilmington, N.C., and Margaret Shultz of Corning; three sons, Donald of Arnold, Md., Bernard of Centreville, Md., and David of Rocklin, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:45 a.m. Monday in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1525 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
