GETTING AROUND

1 Niagara Falls Boulevard: Continuing this week, the southbound right lane will be closed between Willow Ridge Drive and the I-290 underpass. Traffic impact severe.

2 Route 354 (Clinton Street): Paving operations are continuing on Clinton Street, eastbound from Harlem Road to Old French Road. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane. Traffic impact severe.

3 Youngs Road: Various lane closures will continue from Sheridan Drive to Klein Road because of a paving operation. Traffic impact moderate.

4 Smith Road Bridge: Continuing this week, the bridge over Black Creek in Amherst will be closed to through traffic. A detour will use Dann and Transit roads. Traffic impact moderate.

5 Route 5 (Main Street): Continuing this week, Main Street between Sheridan Drive and Hillcrest Drive in Clarence will have intermittent shoulder closures for reconstruction and widening of Main Street. Shoulder restrictions and lane shifts also will be found from Davidson Road to the Genesee County line in Newstead. Traffic impact minimal.

A number of temporary work zones also will affect drivers along Main Street in Snyder because of installation of new traffic lights. This project will run through December 2002.

6 Walden Avenue: Continuing this week in the villages of Depew and Lancaster, there will be right-lane closures in both directions from Burkhardt Road to Dick Road. Walden at Central will have a traffic shift from the two eastbound lanes to the two westbound lanes, prohibiting the turning of buses, trucks and overwidth vehicles. Traffic impact moderate to severe.

7 Delaware Street Bridge: Continuing this week, the bridge over Ellicott Creek and the Erie Canal in the cities of Tonawanda and North Tonawanda will be closed for reconstruction and replacement. The bridges are scheduled to reopen in November. Traffic impact moderate.

8 Route 78 (Transit Road): Continuing this week, there will be center lane restriction on Transit in West Seneca and Elma between Route 400 and Clinton Street. A single lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. General traffic impact minimal, but severe delays for motorists making left turns.

9 Route 179 (Milestrip Road): Continuing this week, there will be various lane restrictions between Routes 5 and 62. Motorists should use alternative routes. Traffic impact moderate.
