Anna E. Valone, 85, a retired florist, died Friday (Oct. 26, 2001) in the East Side Nursing Home after a short illness.
Born Anna Militello in Silver Creek, she was a graduate of Silver Creek High School.
For many years, she and her husband, Thomas F., owned and operated the former Valone's Florist in Forestville, where they lived. He died in 1979.
Mrs. Valone was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Silver Springs, and was a former member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Forestville and its Altar & Rosary Society.
For many years she was a volunteer at Lake Shore Hospital, Irving.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Crowell of Auburn and Eileen Witherel of Perry; a son, Franklin T. of Dunkirk; two sisters, Mary Valvo of Silver Creek and Vera Giambra of Buffalo; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Riles Funeral Home, 39 Main St., Forestville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 9 Center St., Forestville. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Fredonia.
