BRANDEIS WOMEN SET THEATER PARTY

Members of Buffalo Chapter, Brandeis University National Women's Committee, will have a luncheon Nov. 13 in Gallery 101 Bistro before attending a matinee performance of "Art" in Studio Arena Theatre. Irene Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Marcia Fenton will review the book "Empire Falls" by Richard Russo at 1 p.m. Thursday in the home of Ann Lee Ruben. Members will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 in Harriet Halpern's home to view a video, "Timbrels and Torahs," featuring Jewish women writers, rabbis and scholars. Barbara Holender will lead a discussion.

Artist Rose Gandel will present an introduction to calligraphy at 1 p.m. Nov. 13 in her home. Ruth Brock will be moderator for a Brandeis Brieflet -- "Why Did You Name Me That?" -- at 10 a.m. Nov. 20 in Sasha Strassberg's home. The program will explore the political, literary and social implications of names and naming.
