Richard Stanley Kosiorek, 51, of Cheektowaga, a physical education teacher at Maple East Elementary School in the Williamsville Central District, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Oct. 23, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst.
Born in Batavia, he was a 1968 graduate of Williamsville South High School, where he played varsity football. As a senior, he was an All-Western New York defensive end.
Kosiorek earned his bachelor's degree in 1973 from Brockport State College, where he played varsity football. He earned his master's degree in education from the University at Buffalo in 1982.
He had been a physical education teacher at Maple East since 1982.
Surviving are his parents, Stanley and Marion of Snyder; a brother, Tom of Buffalo; and a sister, Linda of Snyder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday in SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 5480 Main St., Williamsville after prayers at 8:30 in Dietrich Funeral Home, 2480 Kensington Ave., Snyder. Burial will be in Harris Hill Cemetery, Clarence.
