Five awards will be given at the Murder Mystery Dinner Auction Nov. 3 to benefit Compass House in Fairdale Banquet Center, Williamsville, starting at 5 p.m. with silent and "in the bag" auctions and cocktails, preceding a performance by the Mystery Company. Dinner will be at 7 and awards will be presented at 9:30.

Directors of Compass House, a not-for-profit agency that provides shelter and services for runaway and homeless youth, will be hosts. Kathleen Cole-Anderson and Mary Lee Collins are chairwomen.

Donn Esmonde, Buffalo News columnist, will receive the media award and Gail Johnstone of Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo will be given the friendship award. The community service award will be given to Crowley Webb and Associates. Janet Parr will receive the volunteer of the year award and Nick Everest will be given the community leadership volunteer award.

Independent Health and Niagara Investment Advisers are sponsors. Proceeds will benefit the renovation of Compass House Resource Center, which provides non-residential case management and crisis services to youth. For reservations and information, call 886-1351.
