ACCENT NEEDS WORK

There's something Heather Graham will never do again in public: the British accent she developed for her new film "From Hell."

"I was talking to this English guy," she told reporters recently. "He was just giving me a hard time. And then I decided never to do it again in public for strangers."

The 31-year-old actress worked hard on the accent.

"I'm not really a person who is really easily picking up things. So I had this dialogue coach for about a month before and we just spent a lot of time together. I wrote out all my lines phonetically. And we just talked in the accent a lot."

"From Hell," also starring Johnny Depp, won a close weekend at the box office, debuting as the No. 1 film with $11 million.
