ST. JOHN FISHER WIN IS A REAL KEEPSAKE

It's rare when a goalkeeper scores a goal in soccer. It's even more rare when a goalkeeper scores an important goal.

Tuesday, St. John Fisher keeper J.R. Brau's long drop kick bounced over the head of his Buffalo State counterpart and found the net, giving the Cardinals (7-6-1) a 2-1 victory over the Bengals at Coyer Field.

Mike Abrams, assisted by Dennis Behrens, scored for Buffalo State (3-12).

Elsewhere, Niagara (4-11-1, 2-5-0 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) snapped a six-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Canisius in Lewiston.

Al Franjoine of the Griffs (5-8-2, 3-5-0) scored first. Nii Sowah (Kenmore East), Adam Caruso (Kenmore East) and Jordan McMullen tallied for Niagara.

WOMEN'S SOCCER: Buffalo State completed a 6-11 season with a 2-0 loss to Penn State--Behrend. Amy Drozen (Williamsville East) made nine saves for the Bengals.

MEN'S HOCKEY: Erie Community College will celebrate a Silver Anniversary Hockey Reunion the weekend of Nov. 16-18. The event is open to former players, parents, family and friends.

An alumni game before ECC's Nov. 16 game against Mohawk Valley CC at Leisure Rinks, a reunion banquet at the Holiday Inn-Airport on Nov. 17 after the Kats-Hudson Valley CC game and a pregame tailgate party before the Bills-Seattle football game on Nov. 18 highlight the weekend schedule.
