New York Power Authority officials are calling on support from the region's manufacturers as the Niagara Power Project relicensing process unfolds.
Members of several manufacturing and business groups attended a briefing at the power project on Monday.
Power Authority officials said they'll be gathering information from businesses as the authority prepares to file a license application in 2005.
Kevin Clarke, chairman of the Manufacturers Council of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, urged business leaders to take an active role in the process.
"This is our local asset that provides a huge benefit locally that we have to protect," he said.
