Norman Forsythe Jones, 76, died Sunday (Oct. 21, 2001) in his Alexander home after a lengthy illness. He had been under Hospice care.
Born in Norfolk, Va., Jones was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a tail gunner in the Pacific Theater.
He retired in 1998 from Six Flags Darien Lake, where he was the games manager for more than 20 years.
He was a member of the Tampa Showmen's Association and Hillsborough Lodge 25, F&AM, and longtime member of the Wyoming County SPCA.
Jones was a golfer and a past member of Attica Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, the former Paula Shreder of Alexander; three daughters, Beverly Catron of New Bern, N.C., Debbie Sue Turner of Virginia Beach, Va., and Cherie O'Brien of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Anna Kilby of New Bern; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Attica.
