DANIEL J. EJBISZ, OWNED HAMBURG HOTEL

A Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel J. Ejbisz, owner of Cloverbank Hotel in Hamburg, was offered Friday in St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Hamburg.

Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Armor.

Ejbisz died unexpectedly Oct. 15, 2001, in his Hamburg home. He was 55.

Born in Buffalo, Ejbisz was a 1964 graduate of Frontier Central High School. His family has owned and operated Cloverbank Hotel on Lake Shore Road for more than 50 years. He purchased it from his mother in 1973.

Active in community affairs, he was a former coach of Hamburg Little Loop football and Lake Shore Little League baseball. He enjoyed watching Frontier High School athletic events and was a fan of the Erie Community College football team, of which his son "Big John" is a member.

Ejbisz was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church and Hamburg Council 2220, Knights of Columbus.

He was an avid beer stein collector.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, the former Linda McPartlan; two sons, John and Kevin, both of Hamburg; two daughters, Patricia and Michelle, both of Hamburg; and his mother, Adeline of Hamburg.
