Paul R. Jensen, 87, of Cheektowaga, a retired sign painter, died Friday (Oct. 19, 2001) in Sisters Hospital.
The Buffalo native attended Blessed Trinity Grammar School and Technical and Burgard high schools.
From 1954 until his retirement in 1979, he was a sign painter with Whitmier and Ferris Co. He was a member and former president of Local 112, Sign Painters Union.
He was an Army staff sergeant from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of Lamm Post 622, American Legion, and also a member of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church.
His hobby was carpentry.
Jensen is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Elizabeth Hines; two daughters, Mary Gubala of Salem, Va., and Sheila Majchrowicz of Cheektowaga; two sons, James of New York City and Paul Jr. of Buffalo; two sisters, Betty Eller of Williamsville and Marion Langenfeld of Amherst; a brother, the Rev. John of Santiago, Chile; and seven grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Dengler Funeral Home, 2070 Eggert Road, Amherst, followed at 10 by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church, 157 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga. Burial with military honors will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
