Hazel V. Miller, 93, a onetime nurse's aide, died Friday (Oct. 19, 2001) in Largo Medical Center in Largo, Fla.
Born Hazel Shults in Versailles, she married Henry G. Miller of Buffalo in 1929. They lived in Pine Hill and then Lancaster before to moving to Florida in 1966.
During World War II, she worked for the Curtiss-Wright Corp. and for a time as a nurse's aide at Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo.
She was a seamstress and enjoyed embroidery, gardening and traveling.
She was active in a women's sewing group at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Fla.
She and her husband, who died in 1993, also had been volunteers at a food pantry in Clearwater.
After her husband's death, she lived with her daughter, Delores DeKarz of Clearwater.
Survivors include another daughter, Shirley Erbsmehl of Fredonia; a sister, Laura Potter of Clearwater; two stepsisters, Katherine Wright of Silver Creek and Viola Snyder of Buffalo; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
