Barbara J. Van Volkinburg, 70, died Wednesday (Oct. 17, 2001) at her home following a brief illness.
The former Barbara Kaeppeler was born in Niagara Falls, attended area schools and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
Mrs. Van Volkinburg had worked as a waitress for the former Bit Lounge on Pine Avenue and then worked as a store clerk in the Rainbow Mall. She had also worked in housekeeping for the Comfort Inn before more recently working as a private nanny for a few local families.
She was a former member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Charlene Cessna of Henderson, Nev., Cheryl Kraft and Candice, both of Niagara Falls, and Cindy Norton of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Steven of Corona, Calif., and Amsey of Oceanside, Calif.; a sister, Patricia Manning of Jacksonville; two brothers, Arnold "Bud" Kaeppeler of New Hampshire and Donald May of Niagara Falls; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
