Buffalo Federation of Women's Clubs will hear Joyce Cavanagh-Wood, a member of the Canadian consulate, speak on "Lessons Learned: Life of a Woman in Public Service" before a luncheon Thursday in Fanny's restaurant. The afternoon program will be a performance by members of the Amherst Victorian Dance Society directed by Joanne Smith. Federation members are asked to wear ethnic attire in keeping with the international theme of the day. Hostesses will be Meena Rustgi and Kathleen Feliciano of University at Buffalo Women's Club and Alice Henneberger of Spotlight Committee of Shea's Performing Arts Center.

Rick Lohr of International Chimney Co. will show slides on the moving of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse at the annual dinner of Niagara County Historical Society at 6 p.m. Thursday in Christ Episcopal Church, Lockport. Ken Boyd of Niagara Falls, the society's photographer, will be honored for 600 volunteer hours. Volunteer with 50 or more hours also will be honored. Southtowns Christian Women's Club will have a country fair, silent auction and luncheon at 11 a.m. Thursday in Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant. Betty Fox of Greenville, Ohio, a world traveler and a former teacher, will speak.
