THERE'S NO DENYING AN EMBRYO IS ALIVE

In his Sept. 15 column, former News editor Murray B. Light referred to "abortion opponents who feel that such (embryo) research is in effect infanticide." I ask Light to follow me along this path: An embryo is the entity that results from the fertilizing union of a human male sperm and a human female egg. It is alive. Therefore, it is human. That is, unless Light knows some other word that describes or defines more accurately the living entity that results from the union of a human male sperm and a human female egg.
