James C. Marciano, 87, of Buffalo, a retired insurance agent, died Thursday (Sept. 27, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a brief illness.
Born in Dansville, he attended Buffalo schools.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Naval Reserves for 30 years.
After the war, he became an insurance agent with MetLife. He retired in 1979.
He was a member of the Petty Officers Club and the St. Joseph Senior Citizens Club.
His wife, the former Cyrene L. Marino, died in 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, JoMarie Vacanti and Cyrene Marciano, both of Houston; two sons, Joseph S. of Buffalo and James C. of Denver; three brothers, Santo, John and Joseph, all of Buffalo; and five grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Monday in Amigone Funeral Home, 1132 Delaware Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3269 Main St. in University Heights. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
