BLAIR THOMAS SLATER, ACTIVE IN CHURCH

Blair Thomas Slater, an information services manager, died Monday (Sept. 24, 2001) in Vacula, Ga. He was 42.

Born and raised in Buffalo, Slater most recently was employed by BellSouth in Georgia. He had worked for Goldome Bank in the information services area in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

A graduate of Canisius High School, Slater also attended Lafayette High School and was active in theater and school publications. He graduated from Marquette University with a degree in business administration. While at Marquette, he served as business manager of the student-run radio station.

Slater was active at St. John's-Grace Episcopal Church in Buffalo, where he helped to form a youth group and helped coordinate many youth-related events.

Surviving are his parents, Linda L. Streicher of Vacula and William L. of Buffalo, and his stepmother, Mary J. of Bradenton, Fla.; his companion of many years, David Tyler Harnden of Vacula; five brothers, William R. and Albert J. of Buffalo, Michael P. of Vacula, and Thomas J. and Joshua of Bradenton; and a sister, Tara of Bradenton.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. John's-Grace Episcopal Church, 51 Colonial Circle.
