Traffic will be stopped periodically today through Friday on Transit Road at Bullis Road in the towns of West Seneca and Elma until workers hang a steel girder as part of a project to replace an old railroad bridge.

The work will begin between 7 and 8 a.m. daily and continue throughout the day until the evening hours, according to the Niagara International Transportation Technology Coalition.

The coalition said traffic would be slowed severely in each direction and advised motorists to use alternative routes.

Depew tables new dumping permit law

The Depew Village Board tabled its proposed dumping permit law Monday.

"We made some initial changes to it," said Mayor Robert Kucewicz. "And when we came back to look at it we felt we needed to make some additional changes."

Village Attorney Paul Weiss said he would make the amendments before the next board meeting.

The proposed law covers what constitutes material for dumping, unauthorized dumping, permit applications for dumping and penalties for improper dumping.

The board also agreed to move forward with a youth court with the Town of Lancaster.
