Ruth A. Zedick, 81, who worked as an examiner for Niagara County Social Services, died Thursday (Sept. 20, 2001) in St. Augustine, Fla., after a brief illness.
Born Ruth Prue in Newfane, she married Michael T. Zedick in 1945. He died in 1994.
She went to work for Niagara County Social Services in 1970 and retired in 1992.
Mrs. Zedick moved to Florida about four years ago.
She was a member of the St. John the Baptist and St. Augustine senior citizen organizations, Roadrunners Travel Club and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. In addition, she was a member of the Salad Bowl Bowling League and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Spade of Rochester and Cheryl Laubacker of St. Augustine; a son, Thomas of Honeoye; two sisters, Mary Douglas of Newfane and Margaret Blake of Payton, Nev.; three brothers, Roy and Norman Prue, both of Lockport, and John Prue of Garden Grove, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 5969 Washington St., Olcott, after prayers at 9:15 in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
