Helen G. Owen, 77, who worked as a school bus driver for Medina schools until retiring in 1989, died Monday (Sept. 24, 2001) at her home after a brief illness.
Born Helen Grimes in Ridgeway, she grew up there and in Albion. She was a graduate of Medina High School.
She married Maurice Owen in 1945.
Mrs. Owen was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Middleport, where she was active in door-to-door ministry.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, survivors include two sons, Wayne and Daniel, both of Lyndonville; a daughter, Doreen Butler of Brooklyn; a sister, Doris Howes of Gasport; two brothers, Clinton Grimes of North Tonawanda and Roger Grimes of Marietta, Ga.; and a grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3830 Stone Road, Middleport.
