The 11th Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame Awards Dinner will be held Oct. 24 at HSBC Arena, starting with a reception at 5 p.m.
Honorees include: Stan Barron, broadcasting; Bob Barrows, high school baseball; Cindy Coburn-Carroll, bowling; Booker Edgerson, pro football; Don Edwards, pro hockey; Mark Finucane, distance running; Joe Niland, high school and college basketball; Dr. Leonard T. Serfustini, college basketball; Sibby Sisti, pro baseball; Steve Tasker, pro football; Glenn "Pop" Warner, college football.

The Buffalo Bills Booster Club will conduct its September meeting tonight at the Paul Maguire Club at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Bills Director of Pro Personnel John Guy and rookie Tony Driver will be the guest speakers and there will be a video presentation of former coach Marv Levy's induction ceremonies into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August.
Lisa Hedges of Buffalo earned a silver medal at the USA Women's Boxing National Championships at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Hedges lost a 12-11 decision to Amber Gideon in the 132-pound finals after having two points taken away for holding.
Hedges, who is trained by Jimmy Ralston, is now an alternate on the U.S. national team.
The Western New York Pizzazz beat the Western New York Sting/Xtreme, 6-3, to finish its undefeated (6-0) run to the Binghamton Softball Tournament 14-under title last weekend at Binghamton.
Members of the team include: Dana Carter, Jessica Ferris, Jenna Frieling, Katie Gleiser, Amanda Frio, Amanda Kotz, Ashley Kotz, Maureen McInerney, Sam Poodry, Sara Starowicz, Lindsay Szymanski and Jenny Townsell.
