Dr. Christopher Paul Englert and his bride, Kara Anne Verdi, are at home in Getzville after a trip to Hawaii. The Rev. Michael Englert of Washington, D.C., uncle of the bridegroom, performed their marriage ceremony Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Town of Tonawanda. A reception was given in Fanny's restaurant for the daughter of Daniel C. and Carol A. Verdi and the son of Donald C. and Barbara Englert, all of Town of Tonawanda. A human human resources recruiter for Independent Health, the bride is a graduate of Mount St. Mary Academy and Canisius College. The bridegroom, a dentist in practice with Advantage Dentistry, is a graduate of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, Canisius College and University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
Amy Louise Thumser, daughter of Joan R. Mapes of Town of Tonawanda, and William Frank Wilkins II, son of Janice Wilkins of Town of Tonawanda and the late William F. Wilkins, were married Sept. 1 at the home of the bridegroom's sister and brother-in-law, Laura and James Parlato, in Clarence Center. The Rev. Robert J. Nunes of Zion United Church of Christ performed the ceremony, preceding a reception. The couple are at home in Buffalo after a trip to New Orleans, La.
