A couple of weeks before her death Friday (Sept. 21, 2001), 85-year-old Minnie Mitnik Serota told relatives she would still be working at least two days a week if the Sample Store hadn't closed.

The Buffalo native and resident, who died in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a short illness, worked as a sales clerk for 25 years until the store closed.

Her husband, Harry, died in 1984.

She is survived by two sons, Donald S. of Amherst and Irwin L. of Williamsville, and four grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today in Amherst Memorial Chapel, 281 Dodge Road, Getzville. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst.
