Sandra L. Golanka, 58, died of a heart attack in her home Thursday (Sept. 20, 2001).
Born Sandra Wilton in Clearfield, Pa., her family moved to Niagara Falls when she was a child. She graduated from LaSalle High School in 1960.
Mrs. Golanka worked as a clerk at the former Boulevard Meat Market and A&P store in Niagara Falls. From the early 1980s, she had held various retail jobs, most recently working in the ticket booth in the Niagara Falls Convention and Civic Center.
She was a parishioner of St. Leo's Catholic Church, a member of Niagara Fitness Center and a former member of the Echo Club and several bowling leagues.
Mrs. Golanka's skill at crafts evolved into a small business selling her wares at local craft shows.
Her husband of 35 years, Casimer P., died April 18, 2000.
Survivors include her mother, Jean Wilton of Niagara Falls; two daughters, Jean Wodo of the Town of Niagara and Laurie of North Boston; a brother, Howard Wilton of North Tonawanda; four sisters, Cheryl Hanks, Debra Kowaleski, Randi Brenot and Catherine Smith, all of Niagara Falls; and two grandsons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary of the Cataract Catholic Church, 259 Fourth St., Niagara Falls, after prayers at 9 in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
