Raymond "Bud" Menzies, 91, of Lancaster, a retired General Motors employee, died Wednesday (Sept. 19, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a brief illness.

Menzies, who attended Lancaster Central schools, worked as a Bullard machine operator for the Chevrolet Division of General Motors Corp. on Delavan Avenue from 1940 until he retired in 1975.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lancaster; Millennium Lodge 1179, F&AM; the Buffalo Consistory; and the Ismailia Shrine Temple's Oriental Band.

His wife, Hazel Lathrop Menzies, died in 1981.

Surviving are a son, James A. of Fredericksburg, Texas; two brothers, Donald and Carl, both of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today in Danzer & Dengler Funeral Home, 5363 Genesee St., Bowmansville. Burial will be in Lancaster Rural Cemetery.
