Florence "Jean" Godwin, 79, a Buffalo native, died Sept. 10, 2001, in Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie County, Stuart, Fla., after a lengthy illness.
The former Florence Muir graduated from Hamburg High School. She married Cyril E. Godwin in 1944.
Mrs. Godwin was a homemaker. She and her family moved to Rome, N.Y., in 1962.
After her husband's death in 1966, Mrs. Godwin and her children moved to Florida. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Her pastime was art. She painted and sketched human subjects and also made ceramic sculptures.
She is survived by a daughter, Cyrilla Soja of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Mark of Port St. Lucie and Thomas of Holmen, Wis.; a sister, Grace Brietnauer of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A private service will be scheduled.
