Private funeral services were held for Edith O. Saperston, a civic volunteer, who died Aug. 27 in her Buffalo home after a short illness. She was 95.

Born in Buffalo as Edith Oppenheimer, she was a graduate of the Park School and the wife of Irving Saperston, who died in 1975.

A former member of the Buffalo Club, Mrs. Saperston volunteered with the American Red Cross, Children's Hospital and the United Way.

Survivors include two daughters, Sally Levy of Columbus, Ohio, and Judy Reich of Snyder; a brother, James W. Oppenheimer of Buffalo; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
