Angelo A. Fiorotto, 79, died Friday (Sept. 21, 2001) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.
Fiorotto, known as "Swede," was born in Copper Cliff, Ont., but moved to Niagara Falls as a child and attended schools there.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
After the war, Fiorotto went to work at the former Hooker Chemical Co. as an electrician, a job he held for 37 years until retiring in 1982.
When the Annual North End Reunion was inaugurated in Niagara Falls, Fiorotto was one of the first honorees.
He enjoyed bowling and had been a member of many local leagues.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, the former Mary Rossi; a son, Eugene of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Laura Fiorotto-McCullagh of Lockport; a sister, Norma Ubriaco of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1112 South Ave., Niagara Falls.
