Genoveffa DeSantis, a former Niagara Falls resident, died Sunday (Sept. 16, 2001) in Elizabeth Church Manor, Binghamton. She was 95.
Born Genoveffa Ventresca in Italy, she moved to Niagara Falls in 1935. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a frequent visitor to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Lewiston and a member of its former First Saturday of the Month Club.
Mrs. DeSantis moved to Apalachin in 1989. Her husband, Eugenio, died in 1992. They had been married for 66 years.
Survivors include three sons, Ernest of Saratoga Springs, Gabriel of Apalachin and Manlio of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Ophelia Centofanti of Italy; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue.
