Paul L. Bane, 86, who was the assessor for the Town of Yates for 20 years and chairman of the Board of Assessors in Lyndonville for 18 years, died Wednesday (Sept. 19, 2001) in Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Medina.
Born in Lyndonville, he graduated from Lyndonville High School.
He had been a resident of the nursing home for five years.
Bane, his father and brothers built houses in the area, as well as Lyndonville Elementary School and area church additions.
Bane married Mildred Stalker in 1937.
He was a lifelong member of United Methodist Church of Lyndonville. He enjoyed painting and drawing.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, survivors include two sons, Randall of Kansas City, Mo., and Kirk of Buffalo; a daughter, Kathleen Dinse of Middleport; two brothers, George and Floyd, both of Lyndonville; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church, North Main Street. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.
