Women's Council of Realtors will sponsor its fifth annual dinner and fashion show today in Buffalo Niagara Marriott to benefit Child Advocacy Center. Kathy Jay is chairwoman. Fashions will be shown by Furs by Russell/Joseph Palanker & Sons, Galyans, Diva's and Heartstrings. The council presented $10,000 to the center in December.

Rear Admiral Kenneth Moritsugu, deputy surgeon general of the United States, will speak at the third annual community recognition dinner sponsored by Upstate New York Transplant Services today in Adam's Mark Hotel. Honorees are Erie County Medical Center, Lions Blind & Charity Fund, kidney transplant recipient Christopher Toulmin and Genesee County coroner Michael Smith.

Villa Maria College Circle of Friends will sponsor a fashion show and dinner today in Transit Valley Country Club. Apparel will be from Jacqueline Shoppe, Ruby Slipper Children's Apparel and Paris Green Hats "Vintimages" of East Aurora. Glorianna Szeglowski is chairwoman and Sue Glownia and Bobbie Kagle are co-chairwomen. Proceeds will benefit the college's scholarship fund.

Santina Algera reviewed "At Home in Mitford" by Jan Karon at a meeting Wednesday of Students' Club of Buffalo in the home of Mary Karrer in Williamsville.

Michael Baase, a chiropractor, spoke at a luncheon for DeGraff Memorial Hospital Auxiliary today in Pane's Restaurant, North Tonawanda.

Buffalo Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota international music fraternity will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the chapter's founding at a noon luncheon Saturday at the home of Jeanette Schonfeld. Mary Lee Bachmann will assist the hostess.

She and her husband, Jack Sherman, also will give a program on the history of lighthouses and living and working in a lighthouse.

Suburban Women's Club of Buffalo will have its first bridge luncheon of the season at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in George F. Lamm American Legion Post clubhouse. Beverly Anker is taking reservations. Margaret MacVicar is reservations chairwoman for a bridge luncheon Oct. 9 at Glen Oak Golf Course clubhouse.

Ruth Freier and Roslyn Horn, members of Southtowns Chapter, American Business Women's Association, will talk about their trip to China after the chapter has dinner at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Alton's Restaurant, Elma.

United Methodist Women of Trinity United Methodist Church will have a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Marge Stowell will be accompanist for a sing-along. Miriam Circle members are coordinating the event and members of Mary Circle are in charge of sandwiches for Central City Cafe.

Ethel R. Zybczynski and Mary E. O'Shei will be delegates from Abigail Fillmore Chapter of National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, to the 105th New York State Conference of DAR Sept. 28-30 in Albany Marriott, Albany. Sue Howe Blazak and Irene M. Rupp will be alternates. The chapter has commemorated Constitution Week, which concludes Sunday, by placing displays in local libraries and schools.
