Dora Clementina Ventresca, a retired hospital worker, died Tuesday (Sept. 18, 2001) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. She was 75.
Born in Italy, Mrs. Ventresca moved to the United States, settling in Niagara Falls in 1951. She worked in the housekeeping department of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center from the mid-1970s until retiring in the late 1990s.
Mrs. Ventresca was a member of the Ladies Cristoforo Colombo Society, Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 13th of the Month Club and the Altar and Rosary Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and crocheting.
Her husband, Feliciano, died in 1978.
Survivors include a son, Anthony of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Anita of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, Tullio Ventresca of Niagara Falls and Giovanni Ventresca of Bugnara, Italy; a sister, Angela DeJores of Bugnara, Italy; and six grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, after prayers at 9 in M.J. Colucci and Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
