Patricia Swift MacClennan, retired Buffalo News women's editor whose Womansope column appeared in The News for 24 years, will receive the William B. Hoyt Advocacy for Choice Award from Planned Parenthood of Buffalo & Erie County at a noon luncheon Oct. 1 in Hyatt Regency Buffalo. The 16th annual Women's Health Award will be presented to Dr. Jack Lippes, inventor of the Lippes Loop and currently engaged in the Quinacrine Sterilization non-invasive chemical method of transcervical female sterilization being performed at Children's Hospital. Frances Kissling, president of Catholics for a Free Choice since 1982, will be the speaker. Judith Katz and Holly Levy are co-chairwomen. Reservations may be made by calling 831-2200, Extension 305.
