ROY H. GEYER, HARDWARE STORE OWNER

Roy H. Geyer, 92, of Williamsville, who ran Nob Hill Rent-a-Tool & Hardware for 22 years, died Monday (Sept. 17, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a brief illness.

A native of Buffalo, he was known as the neighborhood fix-it man. He owned the store from 1951 to until he retired in 1973. From 1935 to 1950, he was a buyer for the Wm. Hengerer department stores.

Geyer was a University of Buffalo graduate. He was a member of Amherst Lutheran Church.

His wife, Betty Engelbert Geyer, died in 1999.

Surviving are a daughter, Sue Fay Allen of Akron; two sons, Robert R. of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Paul R. of Pittsfield, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Dengler Funeral Home, 2070 Eggert Road, Amherst.
