Kenneth A. Dohring, 90, who was valedictorian of his 1928 Gasport High School class, died Monday (Sept. 17, 2001) in Medina Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Royalton and was a graduate of the Rochester Athenaeum & Mechanic Institute.

Dohring worked at Harrison Radiator in Lockport during World War II and did radio and television repair work for Ziehl's Electronic Service in Lockport in 1953. He retired in 1973 as a Mill Road fruit farmer.

He was an avid ham radio operator who also enjoyed theater-organ concerts and working on electronics. He also enjoyed flying kites.

Dohring lived in Gasport for the past 85 years, and previously lived in Middleport.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St. Burial will be in Huskey Cemetery, Royalton.
