Edwin A. Rumley of Kenmore, retired comptroller of Spaulding Fibre Co., died Saturday (Sept. 15, 2001) in North Gate Manor, Wheatfield, after a long illness. He was 73.

Born in Buffalo, he served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for Texaco as an accountant before joining the City of Tonawanda company.

Rumley earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Buffalo in 1957. He was a trustee of Church of the Nativity. He enjoyed gardening and stamp collecting.

He was an Eagle Scout.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Church of the Nativity United Church of Christ, 1530 Colvin Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Amherst.
