Eleanor C. Bel-knap, 71, died Saturday (Sept. 15, 2001) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Eleanor Walczak in Buffalo and graduated from East High School.
She managed two Norbans stores in Buffalo and also worked at AM&A's Main Street store as an interior decorator and at Hodge Florist, where she worked with gourmet foods.
Mrs. Belknap moved to Wilson when she married in 1971. She was an election inspector in Wilson, a volunteer at Wilson Free Library and a Buffalo News distributor until her retirement in 1992.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Byron E. Sr.; a daughter, Rosemarie McGuire Stanck of Buffalo; two stepsons, Byron Jr. of Holiday, Fla., and Mark of Victoria, Texas; a brother, Roger Walczak of Buffalo; two sisters, Dorothy Nowinski of Buffalo and Lorraine Walczak of Virginia; and four grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private.
