The recent News article, "Partnership survey shows strong casino support," was an excellent example of how numbers can be manipulated.
The truth is the Buffalo Niagara Partnership business group has failed our community and is "playing the numbers game" to cover up its lack of vision and commitment for economic development in the region.
When the membership of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership is more than 3,300, how can a survey that had only 142 respondents out of a sample of 400 -- with a fudge factor of 134 other respondents -- be representative of a majority? With math skills like this, it's no wonder that the region is in the hole.
