Helen M. Mills, 80, who was a member of St. John de LaSalle Church, died Thursday (Sept. 13, 2001) at home after a yearlong illness.
She was born Helen MacPherson in Hamilton, Ont., and had lived in Niagara Falls for the past 78 years. She attended local schools.
Mrs. Mills was a member of St. John de LaSalle Church for most of her life, where she was active in the Altar & Rosary Society, the Senior Citizens and the First Saturday Marthas.
She was an avid bowler who also enjoyed traveling.
Her husband, William H. Mills Jr., died in 1981.
Survivors include five sons, Robert of Lewiston, Michael and George, both of Niagara Falls, Richard of Allentown, Pa., and Edward of Ontario, N.Y.; six daughters, Mary H. Kalita, Nancy Pack, Susan Mills and Catherine Lodwick, all of Niagara Falls, Ann Kozlowski of Horseheads and Theresa Ferris of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Margaret A. MacPherson Alberto of Eugene, Ore.; 46 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. John de LaSalle Church, 8469 Buffalo Ave., after prayers at 9 in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
