Emma A. Schrader, 99, who served as deputy village clerk when her husband Lewis C. Schrader was village clerk during the 1950s, died Saturday (Sept. 15, 2001) in Inter-Community Memorial Hospital, Newfane, after a brief illness.

Born Emma Duxbury in Wilson, she attended local schools.

Mrs. Schrader was a lifelong member of Exley United Methodist Church and a member of the Wilson Golden Agers and the Wilson Historical Society.

Her husband, Lewis, died in 1982.

Mrs. Schrader was an avid cookie baker who was known as the cookie lady of Wilson. She baked many cookies for her friends, neighbors and shut-ins in the area.

Survivors include a son, Robert C. of Lockport; a daughter, Village Clerk Emma Lou Reppentine of Wilson; a sister, Stella P. Dochstader of Baldwinsville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Exley United Methodist Church, 338 Lake St. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
