Mary A. Wrobel, 74, a retired licensed practical nurse, died Friday (June 29, 2001) in Crestwood Health Care Center, Wheatfield, after a long illness.

She was born Mary Krysiak in Niagara Falls and attended Niagara Falls High School. After having her children, she returned to school and earned a nursing certificate at the former Trott Vocational High School at the age of 40.

Mrs. Wrobel then worked 25 years at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

She was a member of the American Legion Portage Post 1465 Ladies Auxiliary, the Echo Society and the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Mothers' Club and choir.

Her husband of 41 years, Peter J., died in 1987.

Survivors include four sons, Matthew of Chicago and Peter, Paul and Thomas, both of Niagara Falls; a beloved friend, Steve Adamczyk of Niagara Falls; and nine grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1419 Falls St. Burial will be private.
