Helen V. Murrell, known for her welcoming smile and friendly service as a waitress at Fortuna's Restaurant here for 28 years, died Monday (June 25, 2001) in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, after a brief illness. She was 73.
The former Helen Davis was born in Juniata, Pa., and attended Niagara Falls High School.
Mrs. Murrell retired from Fortuna's in 1999.
She enjoyed gardening and her dog, Tasha.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond of Lumberton, Texas, and Richard of Niagara Falls; three daughters, Sherry Murray of Youngstown and Lori Murrell and Renee Johnson, both of Niagara Falls; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today in Spallino-Amigone Funeral Home, 1300 Pine Ave. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Amherst.
