Buffalo police have enlisted the help of Crime Stoppers in solving a February homicide.
Maxime Myrtle, 24, of Dartmouth Avenue, was shot to death on the night of Feb. 17 while in front of 389 Hewitt Ave. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and then seeing a man holding Myrtle and subsequently lowering him to the ground.
That man, who they said was about 5-foot-8 and wore a hooded garment, then ran down Hewitt toward Orleans Street. It was not known whether he was the shooter.
Myrtle, who suffered gunshot wounds to the back and chest, was pronounced dead in Erie County Medical Center.
Anyone with information about this case or any other unsolved felony is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 856-5600. Callers remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
