HELENE LOUISE KLIPPERT, PATRON OF THE ARTS

Helene Louise Klippert of Orchard Park, a patron of the arts, died June 16, 2001, in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. She was 90.

Mrs. Klippert was born in the Hamburg home of her parents and married Howard W. Klippert in the same home in 1930. The Klipperts moved to Rochester, then returned to Hamburg in 1943 to work in Mrs. Klippert's family business, Kroneberg's.

She became involved in the music and arts scene in Hamburg, Orchard Park and Buffalo. She was involved in the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Buffalo Symphonette and Albright-Knox Art Gallery.

Mrs. Klippert excelled at knitting, bridge and cross-stitching. She presided last summer at the first Klippert/Kroneberg family reunion since 1903, a gathering that drew family members from 18 states.

Her husband died in 1985.

She is survived by three sons, Rolf of Grand Island, Jan of Seattle and C. Brant of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Heidi Lindberg of Orcas Island, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held July 14 in First Presbyterian Church of East Aurora, 9 Paine St.
