THEY'RE HUMAN

The use of the choke word by sports commentators when a pro golfer misses a two-foot putt is not only demeaning but trite.

The best pro football receivers miss the perfectly thrown pass at a crucial moment, the best hitters in baseball strike out with the winning run on third, the best free-throw shooter in basketball misses the tying or winning basket and so on.

The problem isn't choking, it's human fallibility.
