A memorial service for Susan Ann Mast Blackburn, 67, owner and operator of Susan's Town and Country Gifts at her home on South Niagara Street in the City of Tonawanda, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Payne Avenue and Tremont Street, North Tonanwanda. Burial will be private in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
Mrs. Blackburn, a lifelong resident of the City of Tonanwanda, died Friday (June 22, 2001) in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
She graduated from Tonawanda High School in 1951, was co-owner of the Flower Hutch Gift Shop in the City of Tonawanda from 1979 to 1984 and operated her home business for the past 17 years.
Mrs. Blackburn was past president of the Garden Club of the Tonawandas and past president of the Women's Republican Club. She was a member and corresponding secretary of the Tonawanda Board for the Visual & Performing Arts and a member of the City of Tonanwanda Water Revitalization Board. She was a former member of the Niagara Frontier Craftsmen.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, James K.; two daughters, Lynn Rene Jantzi of the City of Tonawanda and Jamie Sue Lamy of North Tonawanda; a son, Mark S. of Clarence; a sister, Mary Lou Schoelles of North Tonanwanda; and four grandchildren.
