WOLF CAMERA FILES CHAPTER 11

Wolf Camera, the nation's second largest photo retailer, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Thursday, citing increased expenses.

The Atlanta-based company said it hopes to reorganize its operations with few, if any layoffs, to its 6,000-person work force.

Wolf Camera operates nearly 550 stores in more that 20 states.

The privately held company, which offers photo processing services and sells cameras and photographic equipment, posted $499 million in sales in 1999, the most recent year that figures were available.
