Sharon A. Hannam, 48, a caseworker for Child Protective Services of the Niagara County Department of Social Services, died Thursday (June 21, 2001) in Buffalo General Hospital following a three-month illness.
The former Sharon Miller was born in Shamokin, Pa. She earned a degree in social work at Buffalo State College.
Before joining the Department of Social Services, Mrs. Hannam worked for the Niagara Falls School Board for 15 years, attaining the position of pupil services assistant.
For many years, she was active with the Boy Scouts of America and the Mid-Town Baseball Little League. She was a former counselor at the Niagara County Rape Crisis Center and had attended St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, William A.; two sons, Shennen C. and Sean M., both of Ransomville; a daughter, Kimberly A. of Niagara Falls; her mother, Nancy Briand of the Town of Niagara; her grandmother, Anna Drust of Lockport; and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Otto Redanz Funeral Home, 2215 Military Road, Town of Niagara. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
